TEFL in Darwin | TEFL Australia | ITTT

As the capital of Australia’s Northern Territory, Darwin provides a unique, tropical destination to take a CELTA course. The city is famous for its laid-back approach to life and the welcome that it offers its many visitors who come from all over the world. With a hot and humid climate, entertainment options and cultural events are often in full swing in the evenings when the temperature drops and the sun has set in spectacular fashion. Darwin may be relatively small in size, but it is home to a proud and colourful indigenous culture and a multicultural population.

The training center is perfectly situated in the lush grounds of a university campus that is regularly served by a local institution known as ‘The Number 4 Bus.’ This convenient bus route ensures you can get around the local area for only A$7 a week. This great location also means you can easily access the Casuarina Coastal Reserve where you can enjoy peaceful walks and a beautiful stretch of sandy beach.

The School

The main focus of the Darwin CELTA training center is to deliver high quality ELICOS and Academic English programmes to the city’s expanding international student population. The center has worked closely with the university for over 12 years to ensure that every student is able to reach their academic goals regardless of their nationality or native language.

One way that we maximise our services is by only employing trainers who have extensive international teaching experience and a suitable qualification such as a CELTA or DELTA certificate. During your training course you will get plenty of opportunities to observe the trainers teaching real English language lessons in an authentic classroom environment, allowing you to pick up tips and ideas that you can develop for your own lessons.

Accommodation

Many trainees who choose Darwin for their CELTA training course take advantage of the center’s great value university accommodation that includes access to a swimming pool and self-catering facilities. This popular option is priced at A$262.50 for the full 28-days of the course. We can also help you to arrange alternative accommodation if you prefer, such as hotels, hostels, or apartments. If you are looking for a house-share or room-let, take a look online at Gumtree, or the Facebook group called Darwin Buy Sell Swap Wanted. Airbnb is another good place to start as there are always plenty of options located in the area of the training center.
