As soon as you have completed your course application you will receive all the details needed to access your personal section of our online course platform. From within the platform you can choose to study the course materials directly online or you can download them to any device you prefer, such as a personal computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. To ensure the course fits around your own personal circumstances you can choose to study each course component at any pace you feel happy with. As you work through each of the courses in the package your progress will be assessed via an automated test at the end of each individual course unit.

Course Components

Part 1 (must be taken first): 120-hour TEFL course

The 120-hour online TEFL course sets the groundwork for all your future studies by focusing on two fundamental areas of language teaching. Roughly half the course is dedicated to the essential teaching skills that are necessary in every classroom, including teaching theories and methodologies, classroom management, lesson planning and how to test and evaluate your students' progress. The remaining half of the course looks at language awareness. This section includes important English grammar topics such as the parts of speech and the tense system, as well as other subjects such as pronunciation.

To avoid overloading you with too much information in one go, the course is conveniently divided into twenty individual units that gradually build on each other to develop your understanding. With this user friendly design you should find it possible to comfortably work through the course at any pace that suits your learning style. On top of the written materials, most of the course units also come with additional videos that add extra depth to each subject. Thanks to this unique combination of materials the 120-hour TEFL course will provide you with a comprehensive introduction to EFL teaching theory and practice.

Part 2: 50-hour course in teaching business English (CTBE)

Due to the rapid globalization of trade and industry across the world, knowledge of the English language is increasingly important for many businesses. This global situation has led to business related English becoming one of the fastest growing areas within the world of international English language teaching. The CTBE component of the Expert Package focuses on ways to adapt the skills and knowledge you learned in your initial 120-hour course to suit this unique and potentially lucrative area of TEFL.

If you already have some insight or background related to the business world you might have some advantage in this area of teaching, however, this is by no means necessary as the vast majority of language skills your students will need to develop will be identical to any other English language learner. Through this course you will learn how to create a suitable curriculum for your business English clients, right from an initial meeting through to an end-of-course assessment. By completing the CTBE you should find that your English language knowledge, teaching skills, and overall job prospects will all be greatly enhanced.

CTBE Course Units

  • Unit 1: Course Introduction
  • Unit 2: Teaching and Learning
  • Unit 3: Course Development
  • Unit 4: Materials
  • Unit 5: Teaching Themes
  • Unit 6: The Business English World
  • Summative Task

Part 3: 50-hour course in teaching English to young learners (CTEYL)

Young learners make up a large percentage of English language students in most parts of the world. In many countries you will find students as young as two years old taking their first lessons in the English language. As you can probably imagine, teaching a new language to young learners requires a different approach to that of adult learners. Through this component of the course we address these differences and show you how to adapt what you already know to this specialized area of the TEFL world.

The assumption is often made that adults learning a second language do so out of self motivation, however, this is generally not the case when referring to young learners. The CTEYL focuses on specific teaching strategies that you can employ during your classes to keep young learners motivated and interested in your English lessons. By adding this popular qualification to your CV/resume, you should further increase your English language teaching skills and knowledge, and increase your overall employability.

CTEYL Course Units

  • Unit 1: Course Introduction
  • Unit 2: Teaching and Learning
  • Unit 3: Course Development
  • Unit 4: Materials
  • Unit 5: Teaching Themes
  • Unit 6: Professional Development
  • Summative Task

Part 4: 50-hour course in teaching English online (CTEO)

Online English language teaching is enjoying one of the biggest booms in the TEFL world and demand is only set to increase in the coming years. It has even been suggested that the number of online English students will soon overtake those learning in a traditional classroom environment. The CTEO will provide all the additional skills and knowledge required to be a successful and productive teacher in this unique teaching environment.

Upon completion of this course component you will also gain access to our network of CTEO graduates. Many of these are currently working as online tutors for the top names in online learning and can provide extensive tips and advice to help you break into this form of EFL teaching.

CTEO Course Units

  • Unit 1: Course Introduction
  • Unit 2: Equipment
  • Unit 3: Working Options
  • Unit 4: Teachers and Learners
  • Unit 5: Social Media
  • Unit 6: The Online Teaching World
  • Summative Task

Part 5: 250-hour Diploma in TESOL

The Diploma in TESOL is the most advanced part of the 550-hour Expert Package. This high-level course has been designed to take TEFL/TESOL certified teachers’ credentials to the next level which should allow them to apply for a wider range of jobs that potentially offer greater rewards.

Benefits of the Diploma in TESOL component include:

  • Enhancing development and knowledge as an EFL teacher.
  • The potential to earn a higher income.
  • The opportunity to obtain a more prestigious teaching position.

Diploma in TESOL Course Content

The Diploma component is divided into 11 separate modules:

  • Course Outline
  • Module 1: Study Skills
  • Module 2: A Brief History of ELT
  • Module 3: Second Language Acquisition
  • Module 4: Course Design
  • Module 5: Discourse Analysis
  • Module 6: Material Design
  • Module 7: Phonology
  • Module 8: Assessment Methods
  • Module 9: Classroom Management
  • Module 10: Embedding Learning Technologies
  • Module 11: Continuing Professional Development
  • Summative Task (Thesis)

On average, modules one to eleven should take around 21 hours of study each to complete to a good standard. The thesis task typically takes in the region of 20 hours study, which adds up to a course length of roughly 250 hours.

Part 6: 30-hour Teaching practice (six lessons)

The 550-hour program includes teaching practice recognition that is completed independently without having to attend one of our training centers. This will allow you to gain further teaching knowledge and some invaluable time in the classroom before you head off to start your first real-life teaching position. This component can be taken at any time after you have completed the initial 120-hour course (part 1).

Option 1: You can find a school or language center of your choice (either in-class or online) and teach your lessons there. The school will sign off that you have completed these lessons and your documents will be sent to ITTT for verification.

Option 2: You can find your own student/s and teach the lessons independently at a location of your choice, either face-to-face or remotely. You will need to video one of these sessions (1 hour) and send it to ITTT with your other documentation for verification.

One-On-One Live Job Consultancy

One of the many unique benefits of this package is that it also includes one-on-one live consultancy with a TEFL job expert via video conference. Your consultancy will be with an expert who is highly experienced throughout the field of TEFL and it should prove invaluable when deciding where to look for the very best job opportunities. This personalized job assistance is only available to graduates of this top of the line course package.
