Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit concisely discussed the different techniques in teaching vocabulary, grammatical structures, and language functions. I have learned about the ESA methods which can be applied in teaching. These are the straight-arrow, boomerang, and patchwork structure. There are many ways to teach, but an effective teacher knows which approach is appropriate for the class.I learned about the different teaching equipment tools a teacher could use in the class. This will be very useful in the future for me. It is also good to know how to write correctly on a white board so that it can be used effectively. I would be very interested in trying to use a smart board, that was before my time in school. It was the first time I heard about it.
