Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit was all about teaching new language, and why kids need to know it, and some of the best ways to go about teaching it. One of our main jobs as English teachers is to explain new language to our students, but there are certain things they need to know and certain things they don't need to know. This lesson covered how to distinguish between those things. This unit helped me look more closely at how to set up my own Business English course. The information on different types of exams demonstrated that I need to think carefully about my goals before developing an exam. Furthermore, the information about dividing a course into specific hours and considering time for assessments, review and flexibility was important.
