Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
Modals, phrasal verbs, and the passive voice were focused on in unit eighteen. I have not been exposed to phrasal verbs in a formal sense that I can remember, so that was a bit tricky to grasp. I will want to go back and become more familiar with the Intransitive, Transitive separable, and Transitive inseparable phrasal verbs so I will not get them mixed up in the future. This Unit has helped me better prepare for a first lesson. It is a good idea to first establish rapport with the students, find out about there interests, and find out about their english level. You can do this with a survey or questionnaire, board game, pass the ball game, or needs analysis. Also some good ideas for warmers such as hangman, pictionary or tounge twisters.
