TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - TEFL Video Journal - Linda, Part 9
Linda updates us on her progress with ITTT’s 120-hour online TEFL course. In the ninth part of her TEFL review video journal, Linda tells us about her progress with units 9 and 10 on the course. As Linda points out these two units are closely related with unit 9 covering lesson planning while unit 10 looks at two very different lessons, one good and one bad, taught by the same teacher.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This lesson helped me to focus on identifying the many roles of the teacher and the learner. In the next section I discovered some of the special considerations I need to keep in mind when teaching adults in groups and one-on-one organized teaching. The one great advantage of teaching groups is that the stronger students to help the less advanced students. This can potential lead to strong student-student relationships and trust leading to a support network. Teaching business English covers receptive (listening & reading) and productive skills (speaking & writing) with specific types of activities focusing on each skill area. Finally, theories of learning were reviewed and their specific application in a teaching business English environment.
