Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
It was very interesting to learn about the many and complicated rules surrounding stress, intonation, and pronunciation. As noted in the course material, as a native speaker I don't really think about these things. But knowing all of the rules and techniques and resources for teaching them, like the IPA chart and the Place of Articulation diagram, will be very useful. This unit explores the present tenses and the various ways they affect language. This chapter includes sections on typical student errors and offers plenty of activation tips and teaching ideas along the way. This unit also takes a look at typical mistakes and preconceptions around present tenses and uses charts to highlight different ways these tenses can be applied.
