TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Jo Ann

Jo Ann took the 120-hour online TEFL course with tutor support from ITTT. In this TEFL review video Jo Ann tells how she completed the course in six weeks and despite not needing the tutor support, was glad that is was there if necessary. Jo Ann is now volunteering her time as an English tutor at her local library and plans to move to Santiago in Chile for a year to teach English. It should be noted that volunteering your services as an English teacher at your local library or community centre is not only a great way to do something for your community, it is also an excellent means of gaining classroom experience to add to you CV or resume before heading out to teach English abroad.

My most memorable English classes were the ones where the teacher switched it up and brought in a TV or a tape player for us to use. It helps with students who are more auditory, like myself, to better understand and reinforce the material. My math teachers always used the OHP. We used almost everything on the list except the IWB- that would be due to it's newness and my old age.This unit focused on classroom management, discussing everything from communication dynamics to classroom logistics. It was very helpful in showing the different dynamics that one must be aware of when teaching and included some creative suggestions/ideas for implementation. Teachers need to be aware of more than just the content they're teaching. This unit makes that point well.
