This unit seemed pretty helpful concerning the use of a textbook. I suppose it really can be a dilemma when choosing course materials. It seems that a good teacher doesn't have to limited by the textbook they use, but a teacher can also use authentic and created materials to cater to the needs of the class. It is certainly a course of action to consider when teaching. This unit explained the various ways of teaching language (vocab, grammar, language functions) using the Engage, Study, Activate teaching technique. There are some structures of ESA that work better with certain language lessons. I also learned the various considerations that go into teaching different lesson types and language functions. This was a very short lesson.
