Ema points out that teaching English requires the teacher to put a lot of their own work into the job and recommends this course as a good starting point.

In this unit I learnt that I have not focused a lot on grammar in a long time. It was not to difficult to refresh my mind with the unit content. I found it very helpful and it has peeked my interest in learning more. I would agree that grammar is not a favourite topic for many but it is necessary to learn in order to be effective as a communicator of the English language. For any language, you need to evaluate all four skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing to know the level of a student. It helps targeting areas for improvement. Understanding how each skills can be developed is therefore important for a teacher but also for students. When students understand why they need to do specific tasks, their motivation level is elevated.
