In this TEFL review, Belle describes how she had taught English before taking her course with ITTT but found that she did not enjoy the experience. She decided to take the course in order to get a better understanding of how to teach English. Belle found the course to be really useful and taught her ways of explaining things to students and how to manage classrooms that she was previously unaware of.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit goes over the problems that teachers may find teaching reluctant students and listening skills. The unit goes over ways to build rapport with the students and warming games to use during the engage stage of the lesson. The unit also give new teachers tips on dealing with larger classrooms and a mixture of varying levels of students' language ability in the class.I was very happy to see that this unit was shorter than the others! It was nice being able to focus only on the past tenses and really go into depth with each one. This was another great re-fresher and I was happy to remember (learn again!) how each tense builds upon the other. I love seeing the suggestions for engage and study activities included at the end of each tense!
