TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Alesheia

Alesheia completed her TEFL certificate course online with ITTT. In this TEFL review video, Alesheia tells us that although she studied TESOL as a minor at university, research showed that the majority of jobs required a specific TEFL certificate. She found the course to be a good refresher of her previous TESOL studies at university and it also taught her a number of new things such as classroom management and lesson planning. Alesheia recommends ITTT to new and experienced teachers looking to earn a recognized TEFL certificate.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

In this unit I learned about various types of equipment and teaching aids that can be used in the classroom. Some of this equipment are boards, interactive white boards (IWB), overhead projectors (OHP), visual aids, worksheets/work cards, cassette recorders, CD players, videos, DVDs, video cameras, dictionaries, course books, resource books, computers, and online sources. This is a good way of breaking down the four skills--by doing it in pairs. I like that your lesson was about reading but the questions about listening--forcing me to think about teaching concepts and how they apply to different skills but also lesson methodologies. I also like that it introduced specific vocabulary (such as the difference between skimming and scanning).
