TEFL review from Paavani

This TEFL review is from Paavani. She is from Ohio, USA, but just moved to South Korea where she will work as an English teacher. As this will be her first full-time teaching position, she decided to take our online TEFL/TESOL program to get the best possible foundation in teaching before starting her new position. After completing the course, she feels ready and prepared to teach Korean students in her own EFL classroom and she recommends this course to other new teachers.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

For the unit on modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice, I gained the most knowledge from the basic rules of the modal auxiliary verbs. I had not understood previously the range of certainty particular words could carry. Examples of these ranges include \"may\" being less than 50% certainty, \"might\" being much less than 50% certainty, \"must\" being 95% certainty. This unit has helped a lot. Sometimes you forget important information because you are not used to grammar. Most people know and teach the easiest that would be nouns, pronouns and verbs. As a teacher we should be able to know examples and names for each word. We make mistakes for the same reason, not being used to naming all words according to their parts of speech.
