TEFL 120-hour Course - Unit 8

This video diary entry outlines Chantelle’s experience of studying unit 8 of her online TEFL course. Unit 8 is another tense unit, this time looking at the future tenses. These include the future simple, future continuous, future perfect, future perfect continuous and the ‘going to’ future. It also covers how the present simple and present continuous can be used to talk about the future. In this unit you will learn how the tenses are formed and used and what some of the most common errors students make.

This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This unit was about classroom management. I have had some problems with students in the past misbehaving in class and I think a lot of these strategies would have helped. I'm definitely going to try them the next time something comes up. I found the building rapport section very interesting as I still have some students that are closed off and don't always participate.I enjoyed this unit as it helped me understand how to approach group teaching as well as one on one. It allowed me to differentiate between the two in regards what to focus on when speaking with an individual student and when speaking with a group of students. In addition it showed me how to base my lessons on these two variations and how to carry them out confidently.
