I have learned that there are certain skills that we use when reading or listening. It depends on what you want to know, read or do in the activity. The example of the outline of a typical receptive skills lesson is very good and could be used for all grades. The engage phase would attract the learners attention and the lesson wouldn't be boring learners will enjoy it.Receptive skills is important as it helps the student understand the vocabulary and the context of the lesson being taught. Reading is equally as important as listening. It is how the majority of children learn to speak a language through things he sees, listens and then read about. Helping with pronunciation, understanding and use of the language in the right context.
