TEFL 120-hour Course - Unit 1

Chantelle is taking a 120-hour online TEFL course with tutor support and videos with ITTT. This is the first of her video diary entries outlining her experience taking the course. Chantelle took the online course because it was better for her to study online than to commit to attending an onsite course. In this video she talks about the first unit of the course. Unit 1 deals with teachers and learners discussing what makes good teachers and learners as well as the types of roles teachers perform in class, motivation levels of different types of learners and the different language levels.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

This unit was the worst that I have ever had, was so difficult and the answers are not at all on this unit. Please make sure doing helpful things that will hep us get more understanding and quick learning. This unit doesnt reflect the importance of the lesson at all. I have kept looking in all materials are concerned in this unit for the best solution. I'm not sure I did good....Continuing on from last unit regarding language skills, this unit focuses on speaking and writing, the other two of the four language skills (reading and listening being the other two). The material takes you through what you need to know to teach lessons in writing and speaking, including activity ideas, and an ESA example for each. A section on using games was also presented.
