OTP English Lesson - Richard - Study Phase - Worksheet Discussion

"In this video, our OTP trainee Richard introduces the topic of modal verbs. They are used to express ability, possibility, permission or obligation. Richard checks the understanding of his students by doing a worksheet exercise discussing various statements including modal verbs. ITTT's Observed Teaching Practice courses (OTP) are ideal for teachers wanting to improve their teaching skills remotely from anywhere in the world."

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

In this unit, I learned the differences between different types of conditional statements, such as zero, first, second, third, and mixed. In this, I learned the form that makes it possible, as well as the common usages and some examples. I also learned about what reported speech really was, and how it changes depending on the tense of the sentence being reported.Teaching a language involves many aspects. It is important to know what phase of ESA you are in to decide which activity to pursue. Each of the 3- engage, study, activate- has its place. I like to think of the activate phase as putting learning into practice. The study phase can entail any number of things. It will be important to make the engage phase interesting.
