From Student to Teacher in 6 Easy Steps

Many people are unaware quite how accessible a career teaching English as a foreign language is while others are simply not aware that it is even possible to live and work abroad in almost any country in the world. Not only is possible but it is relatively easy to achieve in a short period of time. By following the 6 steps outlined in the video, you could be working abroad as an EFL teacher before you know it.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

The Unit presents two main skills of learning a new language such as writing and speaking. They are also called productive skills. From the unit we can learn the difference between accuracy and fluency activities and the ways of fitting them into the lesson plans. Also the unit gives a good example of standard lesson plan both for speaking and writing oriented classes.I learnt from this lesson how to deal with a group with different levels of ability and what type of activities are relevant for business English students to acquire the two receptive and the two productive skills. I enjoyed to discover what the 'Theory of Multiple Intelligences' is and that information made me conscious of utilizing the eight abilities in my teaching.
