ALTE Association of Language Testers in Europe

The Association of Language Testers in Europe is an association of organizations involved in the assessment and certification of language learners in a variety of languages across Europe. The main purpose of the association is to provide an effective framework that allows employers and employees to compare the levels of language qualifications awarded in different countries. The development of the association and its framework has been largely due to the increase in migration of workers between European countries brought about by the widespread easing of border controls within the region. The association continues to grow and currently represents 27 different languages from all over Europe.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

In this unit I learned parts of speech and the basics of English grammar. Articles can be either definite or indefinite. Nouns can be either countable or uncountable. Verbs can be either transitive or intransitive. Adjectives come in three forms: regular, comparative, and superlative. Knowing parts of speech and the basics of English grammar will help me in my career. This was a difficult unit. It was tricky to know exactly how to remember the names of the different types of conditions when they come to me naturally as an English speaker. I realize that I don't always use the correct reporting speech in my own conversations. So this unit was a good reminder for me to use appropriate reporting grammar when conversing with others.
