Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
In this unit we covered the methods of learning, and in-depth study of the ESA method, and a wide range of activities for each section of the ESA method. We learned about Engage, Study, and Activate in a way that is safe for the students and is productive for them in learning English. We also learned how to make better corrections on their mistakes or errors. Praise is Key.This lesson has taught me some of the differences in grammar including relative clauses and phrasal verbs. As I do normally use sentences like these every day, I didn't know the terms and rules regarding them. I also found it beneficial to see the chart of auxiliary verbs and their main uses. I think it is crucial to learn and understand these concepts for teaching a class.
