This video is part of our series on the past tenses in English. In this video, we take a look at the past perfect tense and suitable teaching ideas for this tense. We'll ask our students to describe what a person in a picture had just done before the photo was taken.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit very clearly outlines the different past tense verbs. It lays out clearly the different types and usages of past simple, continuous, and perfect verbs. It also lists the many irregular past tense verbs. I found it to explain clearly what can be a very boring and confusing subject. I thought this unit was extremely helpful to me as a new teacher of ESL.Within this unit I learned that there are a lot of different materials that are availability to me as a teacher to be able to plan and create a proper and creative lesson plan for my students and how to use these materials. Further within this unit I learned how to maintain a well ordered classroom and how to keep my students under control in a well mannered way.
