Pronunciation and Phonology in the EFL Classroom - Connected Speech
This video is part of our series on pronunciation and phonology in the EFL classroom and focuses on connected speech. Connected speech is important in order to speak English as naturally as possible and therefore an important part of English language teaching.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This Unit was really fun to study. Getting to know the material and what resources to use to actually teach the classroom. I learnt a lot in this unit. This unit however really needs an update on a few things. One thing that made it difficult was the explanation about how English classes now have tablets and smartphones for their studies. This makes it really hard.I have learnt the different roles that a teacher can play in the students academic life. From analysing the information I can see now that different teaching styles are suitable for different students and should be adapted accordingly. I also learnt what makes a good learner and that changing your teaching methods can help bring out the qualities of a good learner.
