Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit covered english pronunciation and phonology. I learned about how the use of rising and falling intonation can help convey different meanings. I learned about what syllable is stressed in different words. I reviewed the phonetic alphabet, which I have used before a a learning tool. I am not sure if it would be a good thing to introduce to younger learner. This unit was very informative and taught me how to easily make a lesson plan. It taught me what needs to be included in a lesson plan and how the information on it should be organized. Also it showed me how to allot time for the different phases of a lesson. Lastly it provided me with some nice examples on filling lesson plan for a specific focus during a lesson.
