In this TEFL training video we look at the usages for the present continuous tense. Teaching points such as this one will come up often in a TEFL teacher's career so they must be knowledgeable about rules for English grammar. Our courses cover this grammar point and many more in our online and in-class TEFL training programs.
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.
This unit presented theories on learning and development and touched on classroom activities suitable for young learners. I enjoyed the part where there was an outline on what each group likes and dislikes and how to use that knowledge in designing classroom activities. It is good to be able to distinguish what each age group and in general, how that differs from the adult classroom. As it is a challenge to keep the lesson interesting, this unit has demonstrated how important to use authentic material next to the non authentic material. Absolutely agree with not always focus on the course book only because that way I'll get lazy and the students will get bored. Designing a whole material is difficult but I'll make sure to check out the sites mentioned in he unit.
