The students will have to look at the prompts and order the pictures so as to make a story in the past simple tense. Unit 2 introduces some of the major learning and development theories applicable to young learners and highlights the different motivators between learning a first language, and acquiring a second language. I found the different approaches to teaching 5 - 9 year olds and 9 - 13 year olds very helpful, also the suggestions on designing a syllabus for the two groups of young learners.In this unit, I learned about incorporating various themes into my lessons. This was a very helpful unit, in that I think teaching young learners requires various activities, such as stories, music, games, and art. I am thankful for the online resources listed in this unit as well, since they could be invaluable as I look for the right activities to help young learners learn English.
