Coursebooks and Materials - Use of the Wipe Board

This video is part of our series on 'Coursebooks and Materials for EFL Teachers'. In this video, we take a look at the use of the wipe board. There are several issues surrounding the use of a board which will be covered in detail in this video.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

I learnt that, particularly for inexperienced teachers, it is recommended that you write a lesson plan since they play several importantant functions. The section also detailed how one should write a lesson plan and what should be included. Being organised is also a crucial aspect of giving a lesson and a lesson plan will assist in organisation and preparedness. This unit has taught me how to properly plan a lesson according to the ESA structure, which will allow my students to more effectively learn the language. I am now able to clearly plan out structured lessons that will be able to engage my students. The unit has also given me a sample structure to follow for my lesson plans, which will be very useful in the future.
