Classroom Management for Teaching English as a Foreign Language - Giving Individual Attention

This part of our classroom management series covers the issue of giving students individual attention. A lot of the problems regarding classroom management and discipline can be avoided by applying certain simple rules to giving your students attention. Find out how to improve your lesson in this episode.

Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. Each of our online courses is broken down into concise units that focus on specific areas of English language teaching. This convenient, highly structured design means that you can quickly get to grips with each section before moving onto the next.

The is unit talks about teaching special groups. In this lesson I learned that teaching English to kids at different levels is just DI. Based on the students level of learning we would group students according. You would also have students in a class that is more advance, which would be good meaning that more advance student will help the student that is struggling. This unit covers different materials you can use in a course an which ones are best for which situations/grade levels. There is no one correct method to teaching so you should use a variety of materials when teaching. I learned that you should keep the students motivated and entertained by using up to date and relevant content alongside the regular course materials.
