This was a great introductory unit! I really appreciated the way that it lays out some of the fundamental values perspectives needed in the modern language class. A good teacher cares about teaching but cares about the outcomes for the learners even more!
The description of culture and how it impacts class dynamics and thus the tactics and approach a teacher might need to use was also interesting and important to remember. For me, being new to language teaching I found the introduction to the competency levels levels clear and concise.
