About course book, different teacher has different thought. I worked with two very well teacher, one teacher prefers to have class with students according to the book, while another likes to create his all topic and activities. But they are both very good and popular teachers. According to my understanding, for new teacher, we must be familiar with the book first, and always collect feedback from students. Make sure the basic part we can teach well than try to create more activities that can attract students.
