Much like receptive skills, productive skills (speaking and writing) ensure a balanced way to teach a language. Both speaking and writing require the teacher to have creative topics and fun ways to teach them in order to get the students motivated. Games are a popular way to ensure fun in the classroom while giving students a goal or reason to try to learn the material. Reading is also important and often gets overlooked. But with good props (newspaper, books, comics,etc.) the students will feel motivated to try and understand as well as create their own written pieces.
