This unit was very helpful in describing the many strategies that can be employed to effectively manage a classroom. I've learned a lot about when and how to use appropriate eye contact, gesturing, and voice control. The importance of setting up the classroom was introduced in this unit, and the various types of individual, pair, and group work was laid out with pros and cons for each. Finally, the teacher and student talking time factors was reinforced here and various strategies to adjust those dynamics were explained.
