I found this chapter to be very interesting. As a native English speaker I never thought about having rules for intonation and I understand now why some people might be upset when getting a response when they didn't want one or not getting a desired response because the person they were communicating with did not recognize their intonation.
I have a Master's Degree in Education with a focus on English as a second language. In my courses we learned about phonetics and phonemes, and the manner of articulation, such plosive, affricative, and nasal, but this lesson did a better job of explaining these.
