In my experience as a teacher I find that students often still have problems with writing their new vocab words. By doing a game called memory I let them first look for the word that goes with the flash card. This is already a challenge for some. Sometimes I let them write a few words and divide them in to pairs to rehears the question and answer from the lesson. Give them homework to do is not an option but some might want to let their parents hear what they have learned. Or show them their English writing skills. For Christmas I like to let them write on a Christmas card and if there is time to design it as well.
