This unit went over the receptive skills of reading and listening. The unit started with explaining the reasons for why we read and listen, and then moved on to describing the ways how we read and listen. These included, predictive skills, scanning skills, skimming skills, acquiring detailed information and deduction. They then went over the various problems that may occur and how to avoid them by properly choosing effective text, topic, and task choices.
