In this unit, I have learned a great deal on the different methodologies used for teaching, and how each is different depending on many different factors. For example, the grammar/translation method is very popular for teaching and learning a language. This is when a language is learnt by finding equivalents in a students own language and the language being taught. There are drawbacks, though, such as requiring teachers to know the students native language, which is not always the case. There are many factors to finding the best method to use, such as the teachers preferred teaching methods and the level the students are at (beginners or advanced) and different activities for them to learn through these methods.
