This unit discussed topics related to coursebook and lesson materials selection. Breaking these topics down by authentic materials versus created materials introduced the concept of teachers creative input in lessons planning rather than just following a coursebook the entire time. This unit emphasized the advantages of the structure provided from ESL-specific learning materials versus the advantages of bringing in customized materials tailored towards a particular class/students needs.
