The content of this unit is focused on teaching receptive skills and the importances of reading AND listening. I have been given a better understanding for using predictive skills, skimming and scanning bigger and I am more aware of how I can help students use some of these tools to realize that it is not always so important to be so stuck on knowing each bit of vocabulary. Having extra practice to go over a good example of Engage, Study, Activate is also important. This lesson has given me a great understanding of how to teach receptive skills while allowing my students to feel confident and be successful.
