This unit provides some extremely helpful tips in structuring a class to make the most of the student’s time and attention span. I found the idea of playing classical music (Suggestopedia method) an interesting one, even if the psychology and science behind the method are widely questioned. Current science tells us that the brain is more capable of absorbing and retaining information when in a relaxed state, and the use of classical music during the study phase of a class can help create such an environment.
Not correcting students during the engage phase is a great tip, because it makes an atmosphere where the language, creativity and words can flow from the subconscious, rather than be stitched together laboriously.
