Unit 6 introduced the four past tenses: simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. I had never thought about the construction of such tenses and especially the usage- for instance the past perfect continuous is used to talk about a past action that was going on up until the sentence, but gives no indication of future progression. I wonder if it really matters that students know this? (Whether or not it continues. ) Regardless, I am once again glad English ia my first language as I would find it hard to memorize all the irregular past simple tenses, etc.
