As I begin my master’s program in the spring of this year, with a terminal goal of teaching in my field, I found this unit particularly interesting. Establishing a rapport and being engaging to a group of students is one of my biggest insecurities, and I found the strategies outlined in this unit to be very helpful. The points about giving instruction and the cutting down unnecessary teacher talk time were of highest importance to me, as I have a tendency to be a bit verbose when speaking in public.
