I learned the proper format of a lesson plan and the parts that would be good to include in one. This unit was useful because it shows that teachers don't just have to follow a textbook. The textbook is a good source of material and guidance but it is ultimately the instructor that animates the information. In addition, it shows that not all classrooms are the same, how they may differ, and how the teacher has to adapt to their classroom leaners. This changes the teacher's role from not only a teaching role, but also a creative one.
