Course books are not the only resource teachers have. Period. There are plenty of other available aids teachers can use in the classroom in otder to make their lessons interesting and effective. In my personal experience as teacher, I love short films and clips to start a lesson or a new topic. I find podcasts very helpful and I always try to include some authentic material to challange my students. And they really seem to like it.
