Future tense is one of the most complicated parts of English because there are so many ways to express future meaning. This unit reviewed seven of the most common usages, and looked at the form – including affirmative, negative, questions etc - the usage, mistakes students are likely to make as they learn the nuances of future tense, and teaching ideas and activities that support development in correct usage. I thought past tense was pretty tricky to explain, but future tense might be more so because there are various combinations, and the usage dictates not just the future, but a particular time in the future.
