This section was very similar to the present tense section. Continuous forms in both sections use "to be" verbs and "ing" forms. Perfect forms in both sections use "to have" and the past participle. Perfect continuous forms use "to have", "been" and the "ing" form of the verb.
Also like the present tense section, we need to be aware of irregular verbs. There are no rules to make this easier for students, it usually comes down to memorization.
