Equipment and teaching aids are things that can greatly enable a teacher for more constructive teaching practices. While high-tech equipment and teaching aids are essential to a successful class, having taught courses in which I was provided with certain equipment (like a projector, IWB) was a luxury after teaching classes where these resources were not available. The part of this unit that was most helpful to me was something that seems so simple and obvious. Using the whiteboard/chalkboard effectively. I know I have to be careful of writing neatness and size but had never thought how planning what might actually go on to my board at a given time. It seems a good lesson for me to remember this so that my students will know what the more important components of given lesson are and will learn by working through what isn't on the board.
