This unit explained what tools we have and what we can do to manage a class. Starting with eye-contact, voice and gestures to how to arrange groups and the classroom, manage disturbances, establish rapport and giving instructions. Furthermore it focused on the topic of teacher talk time vs. student talk time and what you can do to increase the student talk time. It also addressed how to reduce showing your back while writing on the board, and how to give individual attention to students. I learnt various things in this unit, but I especially appreciate having looked into detail what benefits and disadvantages specific grouping and seating arrangements have.
