In this unit I learned about different ways of evaluating students’ levels and progress. The placement test enables you to place students in the correct level for their ability. The diagnostic test is used in particular at the start of a class to assess areas to focus your lessons on. Progress tests are done periodically to gauge what has been acquired or forgotten. There are a number of different external tests that can be taken usually with a more specific focus like business English for example.
