I found it very helpful to learn about some of the primary methodologies that have contributed to teaching a foreign language well. The Engage Study Activate method was very helpful to learn. It was great to get a variety of ideas with examples for how to plan and utilize each of these three components into a lesson, and how the use of these can vary based upon the language level of the students and the length of the class. It is also important to provide frequent, specific and positive feedback to students, and being mindful of when and how you provide correction. Again, keeping it specific is helpful so students can learn from their mistakes and errors.
