This unit focuses on the present tense and its four varieties: simple, continuous, perfect, and perfect continuous. Simple can be used to express routines, directions, sequences, permanent situations, etc.. Continuous can be used to express ongoing actions, regular actions, background events, etc.. Perfect can be used to express actions completed at an indefinite time, actions begun in the past that continue in the present, and so on. Perfect continuous can be used to express incomplete and ongoing activities.
