This unit is called present tenses. It discusses the four types of present tenses which are, present simple, present perfect, present continuous, and present perfect continuous. Each present tense topic has their own sent of rules, forms, and ways to use each in a sentence. Present simple uses are for habits/routines, and general facts/truths. One example of how to use present simple in a sentence by using the word teach is, "I teach every Monday." The present continuous form talks about actions in progress at the time of speaking or around the time of speaking. An example is the sentence, " I am teaching." The letters ing gets added to the word teach. Present prefect form relates to something in the past to the present. One example sentence is, "Have you ever won a competition?" The word have is added, and the word win has been changed to won. The last present tense is called the present perfect continuous tense. This is an action continuing up until the present point in time. This is seen in the sentence: "I have been teaching for quite some time. The words have been are added, and the letters ing were also added to the base word of teach.
